Can the complexities of modern governance be creatively translated?
How might the lens of art appreciation as a stimulus bring fresh perspectives to the dynamics of the boardroom?
How does individual bias, including experience and skills, plus group thinking impact clear and purposeful decision making? The Head as observer and the observed?
One of the silent detractors operating at some board tables is the conscious or unconscious bias of directors, their potentially single-purpose, restrictive interests and a Head’s unwitting assumption that all directors understand educational language. In addition, we ask questions about the life-cycle of a board’s expectation around the longevity of a head’s leadership.
These matters and more will be explored in our final one-day remastered colloquium, once again at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, University of Sydney. On Gadigal land, the Museum is a splendid, multidisciplinary space sharing the University’s extensive teaching collection with the wider community.
The Gallery of the Boardroom is an initiative of Future Leadership and AHISA. Guided by Dr Amanda Bell AM and Dr Chris Duncan to date, this series of one-day colloquia has been well received in capital cities across Australia. In response to members’ feedback, the last session in the series has been reviewed to provide a fresh perspective on school governance and the successful leadership of the Head at the board table, alongside the Chair.
Places for this final colloquium are strictly limited to 30 members only. Registrations are open to all AHISA Members from every Australian state and New Zealand.
Join us in Sydney for a truly creative, collegial colloquium with a difference. We look forward to working with you in this refreshing new approach to innovative governance leadership.
