SPEAKER

Ben Tallboys is a Principal at Russell Kennedy Lawyers and specialises in Workplace Relations, Education and Safety.

Ben has been a trusted advisor to AHISA and Heads of independent schools across Australia since 2006, and spends his days, nights and, yes, weekends, advising Heads on all issues to do with staff, students, parents, boards and the media.  Ben works tirelessly to help schools achieve practical outcomes, and manage financial, legal and reputational risk when issues and crises emerge. When disputes cannot be avoided, Ben represents his clients in the Fair Work Commission, courts and tribunals in relation to breach of contract, bullying, discrimination, duty of care, enterprise bargaining, industrial action and unfair dismissal claims.

Ben also supports Heads in relation to their own personal employment arrangements, including first-time appointments and contract renewals.

Ben regularly speaks for AHISA, at schools, and for school law conferences, on a wide array of practical issues encountered in the education sector
