Steve Munby’s 2019 publication Imperfect Leadership – A book for leaders who know they don’t know it all captures well the essence of this session. Munby comments that “too often we hear talks or read books about perfect leaders; super-hero leaders who are hugely successful and exceptionally good at what they do. The notion of the perfect leader is supposed to inspire and motivate us”.

This session challenges the notion of a perfect leader. In fact, the courageous conversations of the four panelists suggest that self-awareness, trust, wisdom and discernment are by-products of mistakes made, acknowledged and shared.  This session acknowledges school leaders’ vulnerabilities and seeks to build understanding, collegiality and learnings from each other.
