AHISA members enjoy the unique benefits of collegiality, professional learning and influencing education policy and practice. There are a number of different memberships from which to choose, depending on your circumstances.

General membership

General membership may be offered to the Head of a non-government school which is not-for-profit and where the Head has the autonomy to determine staffing, curriculum offerings and administration of the school.

Aspirant membership

Aspirant members hold senior leadership positions in AHISA schools and are selected and nominated by their Heads, who will initiate this process.

Provisional membership

Provisional membership may be offered to Heads of schools who may be close to qualifying for general membership but may lack one or more requirements.

Interim membership

Interim membership may be offered to the Head of a non-government school which is not-for-profit and where the Head has the autonomy to determine staffing, curriculum offerings and administration of the school. This is for those who are contracted for a short period of time as 'Acting' or 'Interim' Head of a school.

Honorary members are former members considered by the board to have made an outstanding contribution to AHISA.

Overseas membership

Overseas membership may be offered to Heads of schools in other countries who would largely qualify for general membership if their school was in Australia.
