Independence has been published for over 40 years, originating as the journal of the Headmasters Conference of Independent Schools of Australia (HMC). When HMC joined with the Association of Heads of Independent Girls’ Schools of Australia (AHIGSA) to form AHISA in 1985, Independence was retained as the flagship publication of the new association.
Thanks to digital technologies, AHISA is now able to make recent past issues available on its website.
