AHISA’s submission presents evidence drawn from a survey of AHISA members
undertaken in late 2019. The survey project investigated how independent
schools contribute to building and sustaining social capital in Australia
through service learning programs and other school activities aimed at
developing ‘civic virtues’. The project report, prepared by McCrindle Research,
was included with AHISA’s submission to the Inquiry.
The report
offers valuable insights into the role schools play in developing the capacity
of children and young people to engage in volunteering, community service and
philanthropic giving.
